GOAL:  Up to 100% Waste Reduction

All our food service products* are compostable and biodegradable, thereby facilitating a single waste stream wherever food is served.  All the food service ware can be co-mingled with food and paper waste; no separation is required.  The food service items, paper soiled with food, and food may be collected in our biodegradable bags and the entire waste can be composted.  Our full breath of food service items can fully replace disposables you may be using.  Consider us in:

RTE makes "zero-waste" food service a reality with our core competencies:

  • Consulting & Performing Audits
  • Comprehensive compostable food service ware to completely replace disposables
  • Training in sorting, collection, storage; provide collection containers
  • Home composters available or facilitate transportation to commercial composting facility
  • Compost is the end-product to begin the cycle over again by using in agriculture (i.e., cradle to cradle)

Restaurants, grocery stores, local farmer markets, and food cafeterias across industries generate significant organic waste that can be used to replenish the earth through composting versus land-filling.  For example, the waste stream of schools is up to 80% compostable.  Disposable items such as utensils, cups, plates, and napkins are available in compostable materials and could be readily co-mingled with food so all can be composted.  This suggests that there’s an extraordinary potential to improve recycling, reuse, and composting (RRC), allowing a significant resource available for future use.  RTE partners with established local recyclers to establish the most comprehensive waste management possible (e.g., Recycling-on-the-Go for aluminum and plastic) while RTE handles the compostables and Stryofoam.
